Sicilian Bummulo for water and wine, featuring a Paladin on an orange background. It's ceramic, handcrafted and hand-painted with non-toxic materials and colors. It's a curious and fun tableware item, inspiring a sense of wonder among diners with every use.
The bummulo is filled from the hole underneath when turned upside down, but when you turn it back up, the liquids don't leak out, even though there's no cap, thanks to an internal system of communicating vessels.
The bummulo is also capable of maintaining the temperature of the liquids it contains, thanks to its breathable terracotta.
My emotion:
The bummulo is an object that evokes my childhood memories: in my paternal grandparents' kitchen, there was a terracotta one for cooling water and a larger ceramic one for storing wine.
In the summer, it was wonderful to pour that water after long runs playing hide and seek: we found it fresh and delicious, even though it wasn't kept in the refrigerator.
