Sicilian bummuli for water and wine, with assorted solid colors. They are made of ceramic, crafted and painted by hand with non-toxic materials and colors. They are curious and fun objects on the table, bringing celebration among diners due to the surprise effect of their use.
In fact, the bummulo fills up from the hole underneath when turned upside down, but when it is returned to its position, the liquids do not spill out even though there is no cap, thanks to an internal system of communicating vessels.
The bummulo is also capable of maintaining the temperature of the liquids it contains, thanks to the breathable terracotta.
The price refers to a single piece.
My emotion:
The bummulo is an object that evokes my childhood memories: in the kitchen ofMy paternal grandparents had one in terracotta to cool the water and a larger one in ceramic to store the wine.
It was a wonderful summer to pour that water after the long runs of hide and seek: we found it fresh and delicious, even though it wasn't kept in the fridge.
