Pair of black pine cones, in Sicilian artistic ceramic. They are made and hand painted by the master potters of Caltagirone.
The large one measures 22 cm in height and has a decorated base, the small one measures 10 cm and is all black.
One of my favorite scents is the one that emanates from pine trees, especially at sunset, here in Sicily, and I've always liked to collect the pine cones that have fallen from their branches, in search of pine nuts. Then I remembered the stories of my grandmother, who told me how the bedroom of the newlyweds was once decorated with these fruits, to wish fertility and abundance, but also because they were the symbol of eternity and the immortality of love.
