In the entrance of my parents' house, there was a Sicilian Pupo, a puppet from the Teatro dei Pupi that they had bought from a second-hand dealer in Palermo. With its shiny armor, it welcomed me every time I came home. It depicted Orlando, and my father had told me about his exploits when I was a child, so the fascinating stories of the Paladins of France had become part of my "fantasy world."
